Connect Selected Lines, Bars, and Surfaces at Interfaces

Hello,
In the YouTube video "DE – Modeling and Design of Volume Elements in RFEM 6" you show at minute 14 how a line is pulled upwards and then the function "Connect Selected Lines, Bars, and Surfaces at Interfaces" is used to split the circle.

I am trying to replicate this procedure in my model.
This morning, the circle shifted when applying the function. Now I am trying the same procedure again, but nothing happens anymore.

Could you please let me know what might be causing this and what I should pay attention to when using this function?
