Student License and Software Support

Good afternoon,

I want to inquire if the student license has support. I was talking with a sales advisor and he mentioned that the student license does not have support. Is that true? If so, how can I delete my account from this company to continue learning with Sap2000 and idea statica?

Hi Juanpablioy,

Welcome to the Dlubal Community! :waving_hand:

We're glad to have you here.

If you're a student, we offer free student versions of our structural analysis software. Your license was already created and can be used!

:graduation_cap: You can find all the relevant information on our website:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I currently have the Dlubal student license, which was provided to me yesterday. While exploring the software, I encountered some technical questions and initially tried to resolve them through the artificial intelligence offered by the platform. However, this tool was unable to satisfactorily answer my query, which is why I turned to support.
At that time, I was informed that, as a student user, I do not have access to technical support. This concerns me, as the official website presents the student license as a free and fully functional tool for one year, but it does not clearly specify that there are limitations regarding support.
My main interest in the software is to learn, analyze, and model structures, as well as to develop ideas derived from my modeling experience and my training in Civil Engineering. For this reason, I consider it important to formally and precisely understand the real limitations of the student license, especially regarding technical support.
I appreciate in advance any clarification you can provide on this matter.
Best regards,

Hi Juanpablioy,

Thank you for your response.

I wasn’t able to find any previous communication history linked to your email address. But no worries – feel free to describe your question or issue in detail here.

We look forward to helping you!

Best regards

Dear @Juanpablioy

That is correct, student licenses do not have the support service that a professional who has made an investment in software has.

I don't know where you are from. Which country are you writing to us from? But I tell you that in Latin America, literally "every day" we hold 3 to 5 live events exclusively about analysis and design of all types of structures with RFEM6, RWIND, etc.

Hundreds  of students participate, not only in our events but also in events with Latin American universities with which we have established agreements.

You do not have support like a professional who purchased their license.

But in our open classrooms, you will solve basic doubts and surely you will be able to use your student license for academic purposes.

Today, Thursday, September 25, for example, you have 3 events, I share the links so you can register. There is no charge!

Of course, these classrooms have a participation limit because they are also services for users. But surely they will enable enough for you to resolve doubts.

I leave you the links for today's events at 3 different times.

Good day Cristian,

Thank you for your response. I was just struck by the fact that on the Dlubal website it mentions that technical support is available 24 hours a day, which gave me the impression that there was a contradiction with the information provided, which could be considered misleading advertising if the conditions are not clearly detailed. That is why I thought it was important to clarify.

In fact, a few months ago I put into practice what I learned about connections with IDEA StatiCa (student version) and in that case the license included all functions, including technical support. Of course, they are different companies with different business models, but the comparison helps to better understand the difference in the value proposition.

Reviewing the education section on the Dlubal website, I noticed that the first videos are in English (at least the two I checked). This may be a limitation for some students, so I think it is important to mention it as feedback.

Anyway, I really appreciate your response and your willingness to clarify the license conditions.

Best regards,

Don't worry, I understand you.

Idea is a great program. Of course. Although in ours you can calculate connections within the structure. And that, when you have “non-linear behaviors,” is a bit more real.

I leave you an invitation to an event this Monday.

It's very good, % modeling.

:books: New event: "The little house." Structure, analysis, and design up to plans and reports. 3 non-linear models. Why?

All structures where people live or work or rest on a well-deserved vacation must be calculated.
Their conditions of resistance, deformation, and stability must be verified by a qualified professional.
In this new event, we will practice controlling these conditions in a small house.

Set aside a few minutes to provide good service to all clients, those with large projects and those who ask you for simpler things.

“They will always stay with you.”
Reserve your spot now. Limited places.
