Hi.
Can someone explain why I have no results in result table for "Results by Surface in Mesh Nodes" when there is no grid points in the surface (its deactivated in surface properties) ?
Also how come the results in "Results by Surface in Mesh Nodes" table appeared after activating grid points in surface witout need for recalculation ?
Generally I don't work on Results by Grid Points and in consequence I thought I don't need grid point (I assumed it may reduce amout of data (calculation and file size etc) but it doesn't seem so.
Hi r.sajdak,
thanks for your message!
To analyse the problem more precisely, the model file would be very helpful:
Click on File → Save as and choose the following settings to reduce the file size:
Then upload the file here (e.g. *.rf6, *.rs9) – this way, the community can also contribute to the solution.
Prefer not to share the file publicly? No problem – send it to me via direct message: click on my profile picture or user name → Message.
Best regards
Matthias
There is no difference what model.. same thing for everyone.. Just created basic model with one surface for this example to uploaded.
Below screenshot fromthis model:

Hi r.sajdek,
I was not able to recreate your issue. For me it works perfectly.
Which version of RFEM 6 do you use?
Best regards
Matthias
I was using 6.12.0012. I checked and in fact it seems to be working ok in 6.15..
Can anyone explain more on the topic of results in grid point? Does keeping it on or turning off affect in any way the size of data (file) etc?
Hi r.sajdek,
the influence of the grid results on the data size is negligibly small.
The idea behind results in grid points is to provide a result grid that is independent of the finite element (FE) mesh.
Best regards
Matthias
