Extend bars from IFC import to the centerline

Hello!

When importing an IFC model into RFEM 6, the bars with cross-sections are generated correctly but always end at the actual geometric inteRSECTION with other components. For the structural calculation, I want the bar ends to extend up to the centerlines. Ideally, the distance should be supplemented with coupling bars to be able to define a corresponding hinge at the point of the geometric inteRSECTION.

Since this task probably concerns others as well, I would be very interested in possible solutions. Is there a systematic approach for this, e.g., through specific modeling functions, automation, or the API interface?

I look forward to an exciting exchange.
Best regards

Hello @Hoiza,

Thank you very much for your inquiry! You can use node connections to solve this problem. All relevant information can be found in the online documentation on the Dlubal website:

Hello Mr. Felber,

Thank you very much for your response. I will try the described procedure with future models.
