Hi there,

I have a curved pedestal wall supported on a ground supported raft (see below first image below).

When I run the analysis there are very high top surface moments in the immediate vicinity of the interface between the curved wall and foundation, and where the foundation changes in thickness (see second image). I believe these high moments occur due abrupt change in stiffness where the surfaces intersect. To resolve this I'm trying to utilise the surface results adjustments feature, but I can't see clever of way of using these over a curved line - any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Declan\_Staunton,

Thanks for your message!

It might help to change your result smoothing under Calculate → Result smoothing.

If you select the surface result adjustment with circle, the internal forces should change there in any case. Please refer to the following image.

To analyze the problem in more detail, the **model file** would be very helpful:

➡ Click _File_ → _Save As_ and select the following settings to reduce the file size:

➡ Then upload the file here (e.g. \*.rf6, \*.rs9) — this will also allow the community to help find a solution.

🦉 Don't want to share the file publicly? No problem — send it to me by direct message: click on my _profile picture_ or _username_ → _Message_.

Best regards
