Hi, I am investigating a steel tower as part of my bachelor's thesis. In this context, I want to model a trapezoidal sheet as a stiffening wall in my frame. The trapezoidal sheet should be fully welded between the columns (vertical) and the beams (horizontal) (like in a container).
I have already created the trapezoidal sheet by modeling it as a bar and converting it into a surface.
My question now is how to sensibly connect the trapezoidal sheet with the columns and beams so that it resembles a weld seam, or if there are more effective methods for creating the trapezoidal sheet?

Hi Tk259 😊

Thank you very much for your inquiry!

You can connect the **sheet metal** to the **supports** and **beams** using **node couplings**.

Feel free to take a look at the following entries:
• 📘 Online manual – Node couplings in RFEM 6
[https://www.dlubal.com/de/downloads-und-infos/dokumente/online-handbuecher/rfem-6/005986#mainTab](https://www.dlubal.com/de/downloads-und-infos/dokumente/online-handbuecher/rfem-6/005986#mainTab)

Alternatively, modeling as an **orthotropic surface** would also be conceivable:

I hope this helps you further!
