I would greatly appreciate your help with the following questions:
- When will ACI 318-2025 be available in RFEM 6?
- I am designing a reinforced concrete structure for a class. ACI 318-25 requires the use of the moment of inertia for columns and beams per Table 6.6.3.1.1(a). My question is whether RFEM 6 considers this, or if I must manually change the details for all my columns and beams from Ig to this new I.
Thank you for your assistance!
Hi @arscaribe,
Regarding your question: "When will ACI 318-2025 be available in RFEM 6?"
This version of the standard is not yet available. Unfortunately, I cannot reliably predict when it will be implemented.
Regarding your question: "... whether RFEM 6 considers this, or if I must manually change ..."
Table 6.6.3.1.1(a) requires a reduction of the moments of inertia by a constant factor.
This reduction can be recognized by the Concrete Design add-on.
You can manage the stiffness reduction in RFEM through Structure Modifications using the modification type 'ACI 318-19 Table 6.6.3.1.1(a)' as shown in the image below:
The Concrete Design add-on fully considers this stiffness reduction.
This interaction is required by the code and is fully linked between the RFEM stiffness reduction per ACI and the Concrete Design add-on.
