Creep and Shrinkage Static Analysis in RFEM 6

Hi,

For my MEng thesis, I am analyzing localized models of a flat slab. My aim with these models are to assess the deflection and rotation of the slab under creep and shrinkage. However, each time I run my analysis, i get a failure/error message which says the load combination could not be calculated/executed.

  • I have selected the correct analysis type in the Load Combinations dialogue box i.e. Static Analysis (Creep and Shrinkage|Linear)
  • I have ticked/selected Creep & Shrinkage in the material and cross section/thickness dialogue boxes.
  • I have also enabled non-linear material behavior and time-dependent analysis in the model Base Data.

Previously I created a different slab column local model where i selected the exact same settings, and the creep and shrinkage load combinations seem to calculate in that model but not the current one i am assessing. Could you please advise on how to rectify this error. The model is attached below.

Wenn du das Kriechen und Schwinden im GZT mit der Dauerlast aus den Quasi Ständigen Kombinationen berücksichtigen möchtest, musst du folgende Schritte unternehmen.

  1. Kombinationsassistenten ausschalten. (Bild 1)

  2. Lastfälle auf 'Statische Analyse' stellen (Bild 2).

  3. Dann kannst du die Kombination so auswählen wie gewünscht (Bild 3).

Alternativ kannst du auch direkt nur ständige Lastfälle in der Kombination auswählen. Sieh dazu bitte das folgende Bild.

Hi Bastian,

Thank you for your reply. I tried the above mentioned, however, that still does not seem to resolve the issue. For some reason, the analysis is unable to run and I end up with an error as shown below.

I noticed that if i de-select "shrinkage" in the time dependent properties dialogue box (leaving only "Creep" selected) then the analysis runs. With both "Creep" and "Shrinkage" selected, the analysis fails.

Hi AzharHoosain,

hm that`s strange. Could you please update the programm to the current version 6.15?

Which Option did you choose first or second I described in my previous post?

If it still doesn`t work please send me updated model.
