Design of Reinforced Concrete Beam

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue during the reinforced concrete design process.

While modelling a bridge structure in RFEM 6, I encountered a problem related to the reinforcement design of a beam member. For the static analysis I am using the EN 1990 standard, and I have also introduced eccentricities for the girders, crossbeams, and deck slab in order to accurately represent the structural behaviour. The bridge loading consists of approximately 1000 load combinations, including moving loads generated using the load generator.

Although the static analysis runs correctly and no errors are reported, the reinforced concrete design calculation does not complete successfully.
The process stops at the stage: “Member Internal Forces and Deformations”.

Previously, when I calculated the static analysis separately and only afterwards started the reinforced concrete design, the calculation proceeded further — up to the stage: “Member Set Design”, and in some cases even completed successfully. However, at the moment the process does not even reach that stage.

It is worth mentioning that only a single member set (3 members) has been selected for the design calculation. In the cases where the calculation finished successfully, no additional errors or warnings were displayed.

Therefore, my question is whether any of you have encountered a similar issue before and whether it may be related to incorrect design parameter settings or perhaps to an error within the structural model itself.

I am sharing my model so that you can take a closer look and help identify the issue.

Additionally, I would like to mention another frustrating issue I noticed. The moving load defined as a “traffic lane” was initially assigned correctly to the variable traffic load group. However, after making any modification to the surface to which the load was applied — for example moving or editing the surface — the entire load group automatically changed its action type to permanent loads. Each time this happened, the load group had to be corrected manually.

Hi Filip_r,

Welcome to the community, and sorry for the delayed response.

You are currently designing all members using the enumeration method. Please try the envelope method instead:

If the calculation still takes a long time, you can also try creating a result combination beforehand.

I was able to reproduce the issue related to changing the action category. I have reported it to our development team. Thank you for the feedback.

Best regards
