Global Imperfections

Good afternoon: I am modeling a small building to learn how to create a model with imperfections. Since I have columns modeled with "member" elements and "shell" elements, I decided to use the "Initial Sway via Table" option. I considered it the best option for this type of structure (although I would like to know if there is a better one or any recommendation). The problem is that I cannot visualize the imperfections in the model, despite having activated the "Imperfections" option in the display settings. So, I am not sure if the model is considering those imperfections.

Could you please tell me what I did wrong with the "Initial Sway via Table" option? I would like to learn how to use it correctly and would appreciate it if you could explain it to me in more detail.

I am attaching the file so someone can review it. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi PabloEnriqueqr86,

you did use the imperfections right. Those imperfections can be investigated by inspecting their results:

They are used for your further your calculations within CO1-4. You could compare their impact by also creting an CO without the imperfections used and comparing their results.
It is good to know, that the deformations of the imperfection are not included in the final results of the CO. The displaed deformantion results are the relative deformations compared to the initial imperfect structure.

Thank you, Thomas. Now, I can understand much better the visualizacion of the results or defomation of the imperfections by via Table
