If 1D and 2D member are embedded in 3D member
How to make sure the nodes of of 1D elements, 2D elements and 3D elements are coincide?
Hi netsonicyxf,
Welcome to our new Dlubal Community. We are happy to have you as a member.
If you want to make sure that surfaces and members are integrated into 3D solids, proceed as follows:
-
Build the solid from several sub-solids.
-
Create the member from a line that is an edge of a partial solid.
-
Create a standard surface with material and thickness from a boundary surface of a partial solid.
I have attached a example file.

Does that answer your question?

Thank you, Frank
The method is a solution if the 3D geometry is simlple and there are not so many 1D or2D members in the 3D member.
But if there are many 1D and 2D members, then dividing the 3D member into many sub-solids is a tedious work.
Anyway, thank you for the answer.
Yes, I know that this is not ideal. We plan to improve this in the future. Members that lie within a solid should then optionally be automatically meshed with the solid.
