Multilayer Surfaces: Removing Edge Ribs in Beam Plates

Hello,
is it possible to remove the edge ribs of beam slabs or to deactivate them during the creation of the beam slabs?

In my project, a timber frame construction is being modeled. Instead of modeling all beams individually, I would like to use the beam slab function. The beams are to be hung between the girders.

Thank you very much!

Hello bewa313 :waving_hand: ,
welcome to the Dlubal Community.

Removing the edge ribs on the beam slab is no problem.
To do this, you can activate the "Different" tab and remove the corresponding chords (see image 1). Afterwards, you will get a beam slab without lateral edge ribs.

Thank you very much, Mr. Hartmann!

Is it also possible to remove the beams under "Upper and lower plate" (frame and threshold) or to create a beam without a cross-section?

Currently, this is not possible. There is only the option to dissolve the beam panel into individual components via the action "Cancel Generated State" (Image 1). However, the specific functions and verifications of the beam panel are lost :warning:.

Alternatively, an attempt can be made to define flexible edge ribs. However, this may affect the numerical stability of the calculation :warning:.

To better assess the influence of the edge ribs, a comparison with the resolved structure is recommended to specifically quantify their effects :magnifying_glass_tilted_left:.

Thank you very much for the detailed response!
