Create multilayer curved surface in RFEM 5

Good day,

I would like to create a multilayer surface in RFEM 5. I found out that in RFEM 6 you can select the stiffness as "multilayer". However, this is not possible in RFEM 5.

Therefore, the question is how to model a multilayer surface in RFEM 5? In my case, one layer should consist of plywood and one of asphalt.

Thank you very much and best regards

Hi MoRe19,

For modeling multilayered surfaces in RFEM 5 you need the add-on RF-LAMINATE.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: You can find the corresponding manual here:

:wrench: Define materials for the layers

You set the materials of the individual layers via the material database:

  • See page 29, chapter 3.2 in the manual
  • It explains how to select and use existing materials

If your desired material is not available, you can easily create it yourself:

  • Open the material database
  • Create a new material entry
  • Define the corresponding material parameters
