Modeling a composite cross-section without RSECTION

Hello everyone,

I want to design a beam that uses a composite cross-section made of a double-T profile and a RRO profile. Since I do not have the RSECTION add-on available, I am wondering how to model this situation sensibly in RFEM6.

My first idea was to connect the two beams with a rigid coupling. Does anyone have experience with this or a better solution?

Thank you in advance!

Hi QL_Quadrat_Achtel,

your idea with the rigid coupling is indeed a viable approach – that's how we have already solved it in similar cases. Currently, we are not aware of a better or "cleaner" method without the add-on RSECTION.

Perhaps someone else from the community has further approaches or experiences with it.
