Proof of displacement measure for longitudinal reinforcement

Good day,

I am currently verifying the proof at mid-span in a type of beam known as a beam bar within a beam/plate girder:

Construction rules | Offset dimension for longitudinal tension reinforcement according to 9.2.1.3(2) not satisfied.

Unfortunately, I do not quite understand what exactly is being verified here, since when I think of the offset dimension, I consider the horizontal spacing in the cross-section of two longitudinal bars in a lap splice/anchorage, but at this location in mid-span, such a splice does not exist.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback or help regarding the proof being conducted:

Hi DeflectionPerfection,

Thank you for your message!

To analyze the problem more precisely, the model file would be very helpful:

:right_arrow: Click on FileSave As and choose the following settings to reduce the file size:

:right_arrow: Then upload the file here (e.g., *.rf6, *.rs9) – this way the community can also contribute to the solution.

:owl: Don’t want to share the file publicly? No problem – send it to me via direct message: click on my profile picture or my usernameMessage.

Hi DeflectionPerfection,

In the case of overstress of the cross-section (i.e., when UL 0100 > 1), a calculation of the steel stresses is no longer possible. However, these stresses are the basis for the structural verification DM 0205.

:pushpin: Therefore, in this case, only the utilization is displayed with reference to UL 0100.

:white_check_mark: As soon as UL 0100 is complied with (≤ 1.0),
the verification DM 0205 can be correctly performed and the corresponding verification format can be displayed.
