I could not find any properties in the class surface_load that correspond to the checkbox named 'display on opposite side', as marked in the image.
Question: how to manipulate this property using API-1?

I couldn't find it either, so it seems to be not implemented. However, this is purely a display setting, so hopefully it shouldn't be a big problem for you.
As written in the Dlubal Dev Docs, the API (SOAP) is in maintanance mode, no new enhancements or functionality will be added.
