Moin,
I am currently conducting buckling analyses with my models in the RF-Stability module. Here are the key details of my models:
RFEM 5.38.01
2D Surface FEs 130k
No. of Nodes 117k
No. of Equations 700k
No. of Eigenvalues 2
Whether I calculate directly or iteratively does not matter for my problem, and it only occurs when using RF-Stability. From a certain point onwards, the RAM usage rises well above 90% (available 64GB).
The calculation completes, but afterwards the usage remains high. If I then calculate another load case in the same model, the RAM is not freed but increases further up to 99-100%. This then gradually slows down the system and eventually makes it completely inoperable.
Even after closing the model, the RAM usage remains constantly high. Several GB of RAM are shown as shareable, although the RFEM 5.38 64-bit process uses only about 300MB.
Only after closing the program does the usage drop again. Therefore, currently I have to save the file after every calculation of a load case, close RFEM, and reopen the file to calculate the next load case.
This seems to me to be either a bug or user error, I am happy to be enlightened.
