I cannot find an option in RFEM 6 to select the leading variable action, similar to the functionality available in RFEM 5.

The requested functionality is currently not available in the combination settings of RFEM 6. I have recorded your feature request and forwarded it to our software developers.
At the moment, I cannot reliably predict when this enhancement will be implemented.
