I am currently working on a structural model in RFEM 6. However, when running the analysis, several structural instability errors occur at multiple nodes.
I have made several attempts to resolve the issue, including removing the applied loads, but the error still persists.
If necessary, I can provide the model file for further analysis.
Thank you very much.
Hello Fatima,
welcome to the community!
Could you please upload the relevant RFEM file here so that I can take a closer look at the problem?
Best regards,
Rebecca Göbel
Good morning,
Would it be possible to provide me with an email address so that I can send the form privately, as I do not wish to share it publicly.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Please share your model as direct / private message with Rebecca.

How can I send a direct message?
At the moment I’m unable to send a direct message. Could you please provide me with your email?
It should work now; please try again.

Hello Fatima,
your model is unstable because the bars were modeled as "truss member only N". This type of member cannot carry shear forces. Already due to the self-weight of the members, the bars experience a shear force that they cannot carry because of the member type.
If you change the member type to "truss member", the model will be stable under load case 1. However, the structure still fails in the load combinations because the deformation becomes too large:
You should reinforce the structure (e.g., by using a more massive cross-section for the truss members).
Best regards,
Rebecca Göbel
