This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design and structural analysis of a new steel maintenance hall at Hamburg Airport. The building is planned as a visually lightweight yet robust hangar used for servicing aircraft engines. With a 75 m span, 25 m width, and 12 m height, the project required smart engineering solutions to ensure structural safety and elegance.
The work explores different load-bearing concepts and uses RFEM for the modeling and verification of the steel structure – including roof greening and aesthetic design considerations.
