Unique Global and Local Initial Imperfection

Hi,

I would like to implement the imperfections in accordance with 5.3.2(11), Unique Global and Local Initial Imperfection.

For this, I would need the internal forces caused in the structure by imposed deformations corresponding to a buckling shape, scaled to a certain deformation, let’s say 1 cm.

Is there a way to calculate this in RFEM?

I know that I can import the buckling shape and scale it (with a factor) to use it as an imperfection using RF-STABILITY and RF-IMP in RFEM 5.

My question is whether it is possible to obtain the internal forces of a buckling shape.

For example, take a buckling shape, use it as an imposed deformation (scaled to an arbitrary value, let’s say 10 cm), and calculate which internal forces are associated with this buckling shape.

Or, to put it differently: which external loads are necessary to produce a buckling shape scaled to an arbitrary value (let’s say 10 cm), so that the corresponding internal forces can be calculated?

In this case, you can try using the stability analysis with incremental load increase. The deformation can be limited to any desired value.
