Error on creating members in RFEM 6.12 and above

Hello there,

I have working VBA excel tool and C# console app that automates creation of model using Webservice API I (SOAP).

Both of the above tools are working with RFEM 6.11/RSTAB 9.11 versions and below without any error. But in an unknown reason they do NOT work with 2026 release versions 6.12/9.12 and above.

Nodes and lines were created but when the members are being modeled, I got the error on both VBA and console app as shown on the screenshots below. The error shows when it starts to create the members. In my VBA tool, there is already a template where the sections were already generated, and the cross-section number is assigned to those members. It’s just strange that it does not work with the latest versions.

As I mentioned, RFEM 6.11/RSTAB 9.11 versions and below work.

Has there been any changes made in Dlubal's side on the 2026 versions? Or Webservice SOAP will be scrapped soon? I know that it’s already in maintenance mode and I hope that this will still be supported or a newer version which does not require additional subscription (FREE).

For now, I will use version 6.11/9.11 as they work.

first of all: Welcome to the Community!

About your issue, I guess it has to do with the renaming of Section to CrossSection in RFEM (v. 6.12 and newer).

I guess you have to modify your code if you want to use the newer versions.

New Terminology: Section → Cross-Section

In most CAD software, section has a specific meaning, like section views or cuts.
